Mr Howard Plaatjes is the Chief Executive Officer for AYO and Chairman of Sizwe Africa IT Group.
He is a senior transformation and business performance turnaround executive for over 25 years with experience in Southern Africa and a strong network of contacts within the region
After serving articles at KPMG, he has been the MD, CEO, COO and CFO of companies in a variety of business sectors at various lifecycle stages -Start-up, survival, stabilisation, growth and maturity. He is accustomed to reporting to international holding companies including the US, UK, Ireland, Japan and Spain.
He has held various executive roles in several sectors including technology, telecommunication, retail, financial services, media, FMCG, and oil and gas.
Dr Vukile Mehana joined Sizwe Africa IT Group as the Chief Executive Officer in March 2019. Prior to that he was the Chairman of the Group since 2013.
He started his business career in the Human Resource and Organisational Transformation and progressed to strategic positions including acting CEO of a major Parastatal, Director on boards of listed and unlisted Companies and Chairman of a number of Companies.
Dr Mehana holds a Bachelor of Theology degree from the Rhodes University, Advanced Management Programme from INSEAD Business School in France, a Top Management Program Certificate on Public Enterprises from the National University of Singapore, a Masters in Business Administration from De Montfort University in the UK and a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Johannesburg.
Non-Executive Director and Board member since May 2019 Ms Vanessa is the corporate affairs director at AYO responsible for corporate affairs, human resources, regulatory compliance, corporate social investment and group communication.
She has executive management experience in business operations, human resources and corporate services. She has been involved in business operations aligning strategic plans to create synergies across various business units, while focusing on talent, retention and development.
Ms. Govenders’s strengths lie in talent management and acquisition, employee relations, leadership, learning and growth as well as HR information systems. She brings to this portfolio her specialist learning and growth expertise with excellent employee relations hereby creating value for the Group in aligning strategic HR and Corporate Affairs.
Non-Executive Director and Board member since March 2019 Ms Mafu joined Mustek Limited Group in 2014 to lead and establish the Internal Audit Department.
She has a breadth of experience gained from various senior internal auditor roles held in a range of industries, locally and internationally. Ms Mafu has also held a role as Financial Manager.
She brings to the board considerable competence in business development, project management, financial management, risk management, people management and multi-currency grant portfolio management. Her high level advisory expertise in governance, risk and compliance is instrumental in supporting leadership teams.
Ms Mafu holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and a Certification in Control Self-Assessment from the Institute of Internal Auditors. At NOSA she attended a specialised course in Strategic Risk Planning and obtained Certificates in ISO9001: 2015 Introduction, ISO9001: 2015 QMS Implementation and ISO9001: 2015 Internal Auditor. She is currently studying towards a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Practice at Henley Business School - Africa.
Mr Tatenda Bundo is the Chief Financial officer at AYO Technology Solutions Limited. He has extensive experience in financial management, risk management, corporate finance and operations review, ICT, procurement, systems review and also dealing with JSE regulations. Mr Bundo contributes greatly to the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting as well as systems and operations reviews.
Mr Bundo holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Cape Town and is a qualified chartered accountant with over 9 years of commercial experience.
